South Africans will wake up to the 5th Democratic National Elections and Google honoured its fellow South African users to a welcome Google Doodle honouring the South African National Elections 2014.
All South Africans with a valid South African National Identity document that are 18 years or older are eligible to vote. This is a special day for 3 reasons:
- All "born-frees" (meeting the criteria mentioned) will be able to vote for the very first time.
- It is exactly 20 years of Democracy, filled with success stories and challenges. Therefore, as politicians have been abundantly clear during their campaigning season, your votes will determine where the country will go in the next 20 years.
- It will be the very first democratic election without the late Nelson Mandela.
By the way, Wimpy is giving free coffee to all voters on voter's day (today). Make your voice heard!
This is how it looks on my Google Chrome browser.
